Bitmine added 7,430 ETH over the past week to bring its Ethereum treasury to 5.78 million ETH, a position equal to roughly 5% of the entire circulating supply of the network. At the same time, the company pulled back on its ETH buying pace and redirected $86 million toward repurchasing 5.5 million of its own common shares. Both moves sit inside a $4 billion share buyback program the company had already announced.
A single corporate entity controlling 5% of ETH's circulating supply concentrates meaningful supply-side pressure in one set of hands, which can amplify price moves in either direction if Bitmine shifts its buying or selling behavior. For equity investors, the $86 million buyback signals management believes the stock is cheap relative to the ETH it holds, a dynamic similar to what drove MicroStrategy's multiple expansion during Bitcoin accumulation cycles. Both the ETH position and the stock itself now carry leverage to Ethereum's price.
Next weekly Bitmine treasury update (rolling, typically Mondays). Ethereum network: any major protocol upgrade announcements. ETH price action around the $3,000 level as a sentiment gauge.
